What is Canvas?

Canvas is a Learning Management System – or LMS.

It allows our school to manage and support digital learning. Our teachers can create courses to present content, assess student learning, and provide feedback to students. Canvas also includes communication tools so students, teachers, and parents can stay connected.

In Canvas, the Observer role can be used to enroll parents and guardians to participate in Canvas courses. The main use is to link a user to a student. Observers can be linked to a student or multiple students and view the student’s data in the course. Observers cannot submit work on behalf of the students they observe, but they can see student grades, assignments, and course interactions.
