Academic Excellence, Individual Growth and Character Development

WHY OGDEN PREPARATORY ACADEMY?

Ogden Preparatory Academy is a tuition free K-9th grade charter school. We offer public school education with private school quality. That includes uniforms, discipline, smaller class sizes, and employee accountability. We offer three campuses:

  • Early Childhood Center (PreK-Kinder)
  • Elementary School (1st-6th Grade)
  • Jr. High School (7th-9th Grade)

Ogden Preparatory Academy exposes all students in grades PreK-9 to Spanish as a second language. One of the goals of the school is to produce learners who are literate in both English and Spanish.

OUR VALUES

Ogden Preparatory Academy (OPA) is the first charter school based in Ogden, Utah. It was built with the idea that children should have an affordable quality education in a safe, nurturing environment. A charter school allows parents a choice in free public education for their child.

The Mission of the Ogden Preparatory Academy Charter School is to provide a challenging curriculum where academic excellence, character development, and individual growth are nurtured in a safe and happy environment that involves the active participation of students, teachers, parents and community members.

Ogden Preparatory Academy's vision is to provide all students with quality academic growth while inspiring lifelong learning, service, and leadership.

Utah's Portrait of a Graduate identifies the ideal characteristics of an Utah graduate after going through the K-12 system. These are aspirations not necessarily meant to be quantified and measured. These characteristics begin at home and are cultivated in educational settings.

In order to support Utah's Portrait of a Graduate, Ogden Preparatory Academy has developed its own Portrait of an OPA Student. This document highlights the key skills, mindsets, and values in the essential areas of OPA's mission statement: Academic Excellence, Character Development, and Individual Growth.

  • Positive Behavior Interventions & Support (PBIS)
