” Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.”~ Oprah Winfrey

Welcome Back to School! I hope you all had a restful and fun holiday with friends and family. We are in a new year and have a new beginning! Quarter 3 starts on Jan.9; let’s start the new year with a positive attitude and new daily habits. Please make sure daily math homework assignments are completed and turned in on time. Students have make-up time on Fridays in Math. However, if students are consistently not turning in their work, then it adds up and it is hard to catch up on Fridays. Please continue checking and signing your child’s planner daily and ask them what they learned in school.

Donations are needed and appreciated. We need boxes of tissues, wipes, and paper towels in our classroom. Thank you so much for your generosity and support of your child’s education.

We are starting the Fraction Unit this quarter. This week, students will learn how to write fractions in words and understand the concept of numerator and denominator. They will also use pictures to represent fractions. Students will also learn equivalent fractions and comparison fractions.
