Thanks to all of the 4th grade parents that brought your students out to Christmas Village on Wednesday!
This week we have been using a new app called Epic! that the students are really excited about. They are able to track their progress on number of books, pages and minutes read in Spanish and accumulate points to unlock avatars, etc. It is free for us to use in the classroom, but if you would like to unlock it at home you will need to visit www.getepic.com and subscribe (one free trial month and $5.99/mo thereafter). They have a huge library of books in both English and Spanish as well as some great videos and other resources.
Another change in the classroom is that I upgraded my Rockalingua account so that each student now has an individual login to track their progress and work on assignments at home if needed. To access their account, go to www.rockalingua.com and their username is their first and last names (with no space) and the password is Aguilas. Also, remember that you have access to BrainPop Español at home (username: opaspanish and password: Aguilas1) and 4th graders have Señor Wooly accounts that they can log into to work on assignments, to get ahead and for extra Spanish practice. We will also be starting to use Quizlet more for science and social studies but the students are not able to use individual accounts at school at this time to track their progress- I have to check their work on individually when they complete it on a group account.
