AVID & LIA

We are proud to offer both AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) and Latinos in Action (LIA) as part of our commitment to student growth and leadership.

AVID helps students build the academic and organizational skills needed for success in high school, college, and future careers. Through focused support and high expectations, students learn how to take ownership of their education. Latinos in Action empowers students through service, leadership, and cultural awareness, giving students opportunities to mentor younger peers and contribute to their community.

Academic Support

Students learn strategies for organization, note-taking, time management, and study skills.

College Readiness

Students explore college and career options through goal setting, campus visits, and lessons focused on higher education pathways.

Peer Support

Students participate in regular collaborative study groups where they receive help from peers and AVID-trained tutors, encouraging teamwork and problem-solving.

Leadership Opportunities

AVID empowers students to take initiative in their learning, speak with confidence, and develop the self-advocacy skills needed for future success.

LIA Offers

Cultural Awareness

The program encourages students to celebrate and share their cultural heritage, helping to build confidence and promote diversity.

Service Learning

LIA students give back to their community, often by mentoring younger students, assisting in classrooms, and participating in school-wide initiatives.
