RISE Testing

Utah is changing to a new testing system starting in the 2018-2019 school year.  The test name is RISE and stands for Readiness, Improvement, Success, Empowerment.  The RISE tests are provided by the USBE (Utah State Board of Education) and administered by the faculty and staff of Ogden Preparatory Academy.

Students in grades 3-8 will take the RISE assessment starting this school year. This test includes the same questions that were used in SAGE and will continue to be computer adaptive.

Students in grades 9-10 will take the Utah Aspire Plus assessment this school year. This first-of-its-kind solution is a hybrid, meaning it contains test questions from the Utah and ACT item bank.   Because this test is a hybrid, it will allow for a reliable predictive ACT score for students while maintaining alignment with the Utah core standards. The test will measure reading, English, math, and science producing sub-scores for each subject as well as an overall composite score.

More detailed information is available on the Utah State Board of Education’s Assessment site.
